Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), has deployed a fleet of intelligent cleaning robots – a first for any airport in Kerala, to redefine passenger experience at the airport. The robots will ensure sparkling clean terminals, freeing up human staff for other tasks. These robots will tackle grime in the halls of both terminals and the forecourt, with options to add more areas, based on requirement, said a statement from the airport here on Saturday.

Three robots, strategically deployed across Terminals 1 and 2, boast of impressive features including 360-degree coverage and advanced sensors to detect obstacles and rerouting. Automated cleaning ensures that the airport is always clean and presentable, enhancing the overall atmosphere for passengers. A consistently clean environment improves customer satisfaction and elevates the airport’s image as a modern, technologically advanced facility, said the statement.

The SD45 Combo Robot deployed in Thiruvananthapuram airport is the world’s first two-in-one robotic cleaning solution, combining the capabilities of scrubbing, drying, and dry mopping. With a 45-litre freshwater tank and a 55-litre wastewater tank, this robot offers efficient and thorough cleaning. It can run for up to eight hours on a single charge, cleaning up to 10,000 sq. ft. per hour, while consuming less water and electricity. They can be remotely controlled via smartphones or tablets via bluetooth or Wi-Fi. The robot reduces the risk of human error and provides more thorough disinfection, particularly crucial in high-traffic areas. Its cleaning capabilities ensure improved hygiene standards throughout the airport, said the release.
