The cicchetti bar

Italia at The Park Hotel Bengaluru has reopened in a new look, with a Cicchetti bar. The restaurant has been in Bengaluru since 2002 and has now been renovated to a new avatar. The cicchetti bar is the highlight.

Cicchettis are small snacks or side dishes from Venice, Italy. They are comparable to Spanish tapas. The tradition was born in Venice because people did not want to drink on an empty stomach. So snacks such as octopus, small sandwiches, olives or boiled eggs were served to patrons. This was usually served with ombra, a type of wine. At Italia, you can indulge in cicchetti boards with various Italian-style nibbles.

Their cocktails are named after Italy’s legendary artists, such as Charlemagne Palestine, Antonio Riccard, Massimo De Carlo, and movie icons such as Silvana Mangano and Anna Magnani.

The main course has options of handmade pasta and risotto dishes, like Risotto Milanese al Tartufo, a saffron-infused dish, and Pappardelle con Crema di Funghi Porcini, a mix of porcini mushrooms and parmesan. End you meal with classics like tiramisù and affogato al caffè
