Actor Silambarasan is teaming up with director Ramkumar Balakrishnan for his 49th film. Ramkumar made his debut last year with the hit film Parking. The new film, tentatively titled STR 49, was announced on Monday, on the occasion of the actor’s birthday along with a first look poster.

The first look features Silambarasan holding an engineering book, which also contains a bloodied knife. An ID card hangs from his pocket and a tagline in the poster says, “The most wanted student.”

The new film will be produced by Aakash Baskaran of Dawn Pictures, who is backing Dhanush’s Idly Kadai and Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi. More details on the cast and crew of the film are yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, Silambarasan will soon be teaming up with director Ashwath Marimuthu for a film which will commence after the release of Ashwath’s Dragon, starring Pradeep Ranganathan. Silambarasan recently wrapped shooting for Thug Life and the actor’s 50th film will be helmed by Desingh Periyasamy.
