The Mukkom police have registered a case against Devadasan, 64, one of the owners of a newly opened lodge at Mambetta near Mukkom, Suresh Babu, 46, a security staff at the lodge, and Riyas, 47, another staff at the lodge, in connection with the alleged sexual assault attempt on a 29-year-old woman recently.

The woman, who had jumped from the first floor of the lodge during the alleged sexual assault bid, had sustained injuries. In her statement to the police on Tuesday, she named the three people. However, all three are absconding.

The alleged incident took place around 11 p.m. on Saturday when the woman, one of the employees at the lodge, was resting in her room.
