The Crime Branch (CB) on Wednesday (February 5, 2025) took into custody two teachers – Fahad and Jishnu – as part of the continuing investigation into the question paper leak case in Kerala.
The teachers, associated with the Koduvally-based M.S. Solutions which was exposed in the initial phase of investigation for its suspected role in leaking the question paper during an online training for SSLC and Plus One students, were taken into custody from their houses at Vavad, near Koduvally, Kozhikode, around 5 a.m.
According to CB sources, several online trainers associated with M.S. Solutions had already been quizzed in connection with the case. Mohammed Shuhaib, the prime suspect, had previously been booked in connection with the incident. The investigation team had issued a look-out notice for him as he was found to be absconding since the incident. His anticipatory bail application was rejected following the prosecution’s argument that he had allegedly conspired with Education department employees to leak the question paper and that the bail would affect the investigation.
The CB had also frozen two bank accounts managed by Mr. Shuhaib who was booked under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal conspiracy. CB sources said the details of suspicious money transactions were included in the list of evidence.
The five-member CB squad, under Superintendent of Police K.K. Moideenkutty, began the investigation based on the complaint filed by the Director General of Education with the State Police Chief about the leak of SSLC English and Plus One Mathematics exam question papers on YouTube before Christmas exams.
