The Virugambakkam All-Women Police station on Thursday (February 6, 2025) arrested a 24-year-old actor on charges of sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy.

A senior official of the city police said the boy, a class 9 student, had gone to a park near his house to play last week. At the park, S. Hari, a junior artist working in Tamil films, introduced himself to the boy as an actor and showed photos of him working with popular actors on his social media page. He then sexually abused the boy, the police said.

The parents of the boy, on being informed about the incident, filed a complaint at the Virugambakkam All-Women Police Station. The police, after filing a case, probed footage from CCTV cameras in the area. They also found that the accused was previously involved in other such cases.

He has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
