Leader of Opposition V. D. Satheesan has said that the Congress is ready to bring down the misrule of the Left Front government led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The party is equipped to win around 80% of the local bodies in the forthcoming elections, he said in his inaugural address at the ‘Navajagran’ meeting of the ward presidents of the Congress organised by the Ernakulam District Congress Committee here on Saturday (February 8).

The party can make a surge in the district if the workers can ignite the organisational capabilities. The electorate is fed up with the Left government, he said.

Mohammed Shiyas, president of the Ernakulam District Congress Committee, presided over the event. MPs Benny Behanan and Hibi Eden, MLAs K. Babu, T. J Vinod, Anwar Sadath, Mathew Kuzhalnadan, and Eldhose Kunnappilly attended.
