Deputy Commissioner B. Susheela has suggested that officials of the Education Department implement special programmes that help improve SSLC results.

She was addressing a workshop in Yadgir on Sunday.

Emphasising on the need for special programmes that help improve SSLC results, the Deputy Commissioner said that quality in education is one among the indexes that decides the progress of a district.

Hence, officers of the Education Department should implement programmes effectively focusing on students who are identified as backward in learning, the Deputy Commissioner said.

Dr. Susheela said that students missing classes during the crucial period primarily impacts results. Therefore, gram panchayat presidents and vice-presidents should join hands with the Education Department officers in approaching parents and making their children attend classes compulsorily. They should also conduct special classes in libraries at the gram panchayat level to shape the educational careers of students.

Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat Lavish Ordia said that 20-point programmes are going to be implemented to improve results.

Supervising students studying after school hours is bringing the expected results. Thus, parents should keep their concentration on their children’s studies, he added.

Deputy Director of Public Instructions C.S. Mudhol explained the programmes that the department is going to implement to improve SSLC results.

Officers of the Zilla Panchayat, the Chief Planning Officer and others were present.
