Underground gas pipeline in Dharwad catches fire

Published - February 09, 2025 07:52 pm IST - Belagavi

Fire and Emergency Services personnel, police and others managed to put out a fire from an underground gas pipeline at Rajatagiri in Dharwad on Sunday.

The fire spread panic among residents for some time. However, there were no reports of loss or injury.

Some people walking on the road noticed the fire near a gutter near the First Cross of Rajatagiri.

They thought it was a fire lit by someone to burn fallen leaves. But the fire spread along a narrow line and the crowd suspected gas leakage.

The police arrived on the scene with the Fire and Emergency Services personnel. They cordoned off the area and stopped vehicle movement on the road before putting out the fire.
