Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar is the new Coimbatore District Collector

Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar will be the new Collector of Coimbatore district, succeeding Kranthi Kumar Pati.

A 2016-batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, Mr. Giriyappanavar is from Haveri district in Karnataka and holds an engineering degree in Electronics and Communication from PES University, Bengaluru. He cleared the UPSC examination in his first attempt in 2016.

He served as the Commissioner of Tiruppur City Municipal Corporation from February 2023 to October 2024, and was posted as Joint Secretary in the Public Department. He was then an Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Secretary.

Mr. Pati is set to take over as the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC).
