56 persons injured in jallikattu held at Thirunallur

A jallikattu organised at Thirunallur in the district left 56 persons injured on Tuesday. The seven-hour-long event saw the release of as many as 650 bulls with the number of participating tamers being 350. Among the injured, 12 were referred to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Tiruchi and four others to Pudukottai Government Medical College Hospital. The remaining 40 injured were treated as outpatients at the event venue, said police sources.
