A 48-year-old man was stabbed to death by his relative following an argument at the City Railway Station premises on Tuesday.

The deceased, identified as Venkatesh, was a street vendor selling artificial jewellery. The accused identified as Ramu, brother-in-law of the deceased, is on the run, according to the police.

The police said that the two partied together on Sunday, at the parking lot of the railway station and had a fight following an argument. A probe revealed that Ramu fled the spot after stabbing Venkatesh. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he was treated and later discharged home. However, he succumbed to his injuries at home later.

Based on the complaint by another relative of the victim, the railway police have registered a case.
