Anantapur Rural Police, on Tuesday, arrested a woman, the complainant, and her two accomplices in the murder case of her husband. Anantapur Rural Circle Inspector N. Sekhar said that the victim, Devarakonda Kasappa alias Kasi, was murdered after he learnt about his wife’s extra-marital affair and threatened to kill the couple.

Police investigation revealed that Kasappa and his wife lived at Malkapuram village in Dharmavaram mandal and worked as contractors at Kakkalapalli market yard in the city. Kasappa used to travel to Hyderabad on the sari business he started. According to the CI, Sowbhagya continued working at the market yard while her husband was away doing business work and had an extramarital affair with Nawaz Baig of Kolar, Karnataka, who also worked there.

The CI said that Kasappa, on learning of his wife’s extramarital affair, threatened to kill her and Nawaz Baig. “Sowbhagya and Nawaz Baig decided to eliminate Kasappa to continue their relationship. Nawaz Baig and his friend Ghouse Peera convinced Kasappa to come to an isolated spot on the city outskirts, where the duo made Kasappa consume excess liquor. Then, they attacked him with an empty liquor bottle, smashed his head with a boulder and fled,’‘ Mr. Shekar said.

The next day, Sowbhagya lodged a complaint stating that unknown persons killed her husband. Ten days later, police arrested the trio and seized their mobile phones.
