The Ernakulam Rural police on Monday arrested a man allegedly with 10 grams of heroin stored in PET bottles.
The arrested is Nasmul Ali, 21, of Assam. A special team of the Additional Superintendent of Police and the Perumbavoor police made the arrest. He was nabbed when he was allegedly out to sell drugs on Monday around 9.30 p.m. He reportedly attempted to flee but was chased down by the police.
The police said the accused used to smuggle in heroin from Assam and then sold it for around ₹700 a gram. It was mostly sold among migrant workers.
