Pointing out that the growth of industrial and IT sectors is necessary to ensure the overall progress of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said that the industrial sector growth needs to be increased from 6.57% to 16%.

Addressing the Secretaries and Ministers during a meeting on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu said industrial development in the State took a backseat during the YSRCP’s tenure, adding that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has been working to achieve better results by ensuring the ‘speed of doing business’.

The government is offering significant incentives for industrial development. Growth of industries will help flourish the State’s economy and create jobs. Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram, Anantapur, and Tirupati are being developed through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, he said.

Industries, Commerce, and Food Processing Secretary N. Yuvaraj explained the strategic efforts to enhance industrial growth through MSMEs and sector-specific policies. The government is working towards establishing 175 industrial parks in all constituencies and setting up plug-and-play industrial parks with an investment of ₹2,500 crore. Efforts are on to secure ₹2,000 crore from the Central government under PM-Kisan Yojana.

To boost port and fishing industries, the government is accelerating work on major projects, including Ramayapatnam Port (52.91% work completed), Machilipatnam Port (31% work completed, Mulapeta Port (32% completed), and Kakinada Gateway Port (24% completed).

Further, the Bhogapuram airport is set to be completed by March 2026. A 300-acre Drone City is also being developed to promote innovation in drone technology, he added.
