Works on the International Vallalar Centre coming up at Vadalur in Cuddalore were under way in areas permitted by the Madras High Court, Minister for Hindu religious and Charitable Endowments P.K. Sekarbabu said here on Tuesday.

He was speaking to presspersons after launching annadhanam at the house in Seven Wells in Chennai, where saint Ramalinga Adigalar, who is popularly known as Arutprakasa Vallalar, lived.

‘Unnecessary cases’

Mr. Sekarbabu said a section of persons, who did not want the State to be peaceful and wished it to be divided on the basis of caste and community, seemed to be filing “unnecessary cases” against the project.
