Kota Srinivas Poojary, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP, has urged the Railway Ministry to operate special trains between Udupi and Prayagraj to facilitate devotees to attend the Kumbh Mela.

Meeting Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at New Delhi on Sunday, Mr. Poojary drew his attention towards the eagerness of devotees from his region to participate in the Kumbh Mela.

He said Udupi is an important religious and cultural centre and many residents from this region travel to various spiritual gatherings across the country.

A direct train service to Prayagraj during the Kumbh Mela would not only reduce travel hardships but also promote better accessibility for pilgrims from Karnataka and neighbouring regions.
