Physical education teacher arrested under POCSO Act

A part-time physical education teacher of a government school in the district has been arrested under the POCSO Act on charges of sexually assaulting some minor girl students. 

K. Adaikkalam, 44, was arrested on Monday based on a complaint lodged by District Child Protection Officer D. Vasantha Kumar.

The Ilupur All Women Police have registered a case against the teacher under sections 9 (f), 10 of the POCSO Act and under section 75 of The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, said the police.
