Commuters heading towards Kempegowda International Airport and Aero India show on Tuesday morning faced severe traffic congestion on Ballari Road as thousands made their way to the second day of Aero India 2025. Traffic moved at a snail’s pace for nearly four kilometres, with vehicles inching forward for over three hours.
A significantly higher number of delegates, exhibitors, and journalists attended the second day of the air show, which featured multiple static displays and ten flying demonstrations. The increased footfall contributed to the bottleneck, leading to long delays for those travelling on the route.
According to commuters, the situation was dire as vehicles remained stalled near Hebbal junction as early as 8 a.m. The congestion worsened over the next few hours, with traffic slowing to a crawl near Kogilu Cross, about 3.5 km from the Yelahanka Air Force Station entrance.
“I was stuck for nearly an hour just trying to cross Kogilu Cross. The traffic was completely choked,” said Rahul N., a commuter.
However, not all travellers faced the same ordeal in the evening. “I experienced traffic in the morning but in the evening the traffic was smooth and I reached without much hassle to Central Business District. The traffic was smooth in some sections including Kogilu cross,” said another commuter, Ravindra K.
With public viewing days scheduled for February 12, 13, and 14, traffic conditions are expected to deteriorate further.
