Waltair Division conducts mock drill to assess staff preparedness during train derailment

A mock drill was conducted by Waltair Division, to assess the preparedness and response of the staff during mishaps, between Jimidipeta and Kuneru on Tuesday.

The scenario involved the derailment of train no. 08874 going from Sambalpur city to SMV Bengaluru, between Jimidipeta and Kuneru. Upon receiving the alert, staff and officers promptly responded, with hooters signalling the commencement of the drill, according to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager K. Saandeep.

Control rooms were activated, and protocols for deploying Accident Relief Trains, Medical Emergency Trains, and other necessary resources were swiftly activated under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Manoj Kumar Sahoo. Help desks were also opened to disseminate information to the public.
