Madras High Court Chief Justice K.R. Shriram on Tuesday inaugurated the High Court guest house, the District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate court building and the Judicial Officers quarters in Rameswaram in Ramanathapuram district.
The Chief Justice, through video conference, laid the foundation for the construction of court building and quarters for the District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate at Kamuthi in the district.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Justice Shriram said that the main objective was to build an efficient and accessible judicial system across every nook and cranny of the State.
The projects symbolise the collective ambition to ensure that the pillars of democracy stand strong and resolute in every corner of the State. The establishment of modern court facilities played an instrumental role in optimising the efficiency with which cases are heard, evaluated and resolved, he said.
The members of the Bar contribute significantly towards the dispensation of justice. The relationship between the Bar and Bench is foundational to the effective functioning of the judicial system. It is built on mutual respect, collaboration and sheer commitment to justice, he said.
Minister of Law, Courts, Prisons and Prevention of Corruption S. Regupathy, Administrative Judge of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court Justice J. Nisha Banu, Justice C. Saravanan, Ramanathapuram Collector Simranjeet Singh Kahlon, Ramanathapuram Superintendent of Police G. Chandeesh, District judges and advocates were present at the event.
Principal District and Sessions Judge A.K. Mehbub Ali Khan welcomed the gathering and Chief Judicial Magistrate C. Mohanram proposed a vote of thanks. Public Works Department Superintending Engineer P.E. Arasu presented the project report.
