Telugu film actor K. Chiranjeevi said that he would keep away from politics and stay close to cinema. The actor turned into a politician with the launch of Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) in 2008. However, in December 2016, he announced the merger of PRP with Congress. He served as a Union Minister of State for Tourism.

Speaking at the pre-release event of the movie Brahma Anandam on Tuesday (February 11, 2025), Mr. Chiranjeevi said that people speculated about him becoming close to bigwigs. “It is to be of service in another way,” he said.

The actor further said that his aspiration to be of service, ambitions will be realised by Pawan Kalyan [his brother who is the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh].
